Story
In the last year I've done a number of events to raise money in memory of my sister for the Psychiatry Research Trust. I've been overwhelmed by the generosity of friends and clients. Since completing my ride across the Alps from Geneva to Avignon, the Hyde Park Triathlon and The Paris Half Marathon, many people who didn't manage to before have said they would still like to contribute so I've opened up the page again to give them the chance and hopefully reach a new target of £10k.
As an added incentive I've upped the challenge. I'm going back to the Alps in June this time travelling from Geneva to Antibe, a shorter distance of 650km compared to the 725km last year but taking in over 18,000m of ascents compared to 11,036m last year. That's more than cycling to the peak of Everest and back....Twice ! and in just 5 days.
My sister died after a very sudden and short mental illness. She was a Mum of two girls, then aged 6 and 9. A Doctor in Nutrition and Food Science, she gained her PhD from Kings College, which is why I've chosen the Psychiatry Research Trust, based at Kings College in London.
Your kind donations will be used to fund research into natural cures for mental illnesses which affect 1 in 4 people. My beautiful nieces are growing up without their mum to share all their achievements. With your help we can make a significant contribution to prevent other families from suffering this tragedy. My aim is to raise £10,000. Any amount will be gratefully received.
