For those of you that may not know me I am a manager in the NHS, currently working at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. Part of my role involves managing the Spinal Injuries Centre based at the Northern General Hospital.

We have recently had the opportunity to see the Ekso Skeleton in action at our centre. The company came to the centre and spent two days with staff and patients demonstrating the product. The product allows paralysed people to walk as part of their rehabilitation package. We were so impressed with it and so convinced of the benefits to patients that we thought we should buy one!

I am doing a sponsored charity bike ride on 10 June. This is a 100 mile ride with 2800 metres of climbing, for those of you not in to cycling this means somewhere between 7 - 8 hours in the saddle. It will be a difficult ride and I am currently training to try and minimise the pain on the day!
