"Do you and Lesley fancy a walk?”  Uncle Peter asked during our telephone conversation the other day. Only if we can have pink wellies we replied! A 7 mile trek on Saturday 9th August 2008 across the beautiful bay of Morecambe, taking in the spectacular scenery and wonderful wildlife with a trained guide so as to avoid the quicksand. We expect to get very wet! 
On a more serious note though: it would have been Kim’s 48th birthday on the 28th August, Peter and Florence felt that they should do something of significance but weren’t sure what. Which is were we stepped in, Lesley and I agreed to take part in this walk for the British Heart Foundation. We have dedicated our walk to Kim, our cousin, who died suddenly last year from a rare heart condition, and to our dad, Tony Mason, who is currently recovering from major heart surgery. But we need your help and sponsorship which is were you step in!
So come on all you good people, put your hands in your pockets and dig deep ~ don’t be shy! Please, please, please give what you can no matter how large or small, every little helps! For those of you lucky enough to have known Kim and who would have been buying her a birthday present this year, you still can by donating here in her memory. Not only making it meaningful but going to a very worthy cause. For those of you lucky enough to know our dad you can give extra, for the privilage! And for those of you who don't/didn't know either of them we still need your money! Come on . . . even a pound will do, it all adds up! Check all your pockets for loose change, your car, handbags, down the side of your settee, your washer, in fact everywhere! Remember, this is not for us wading knee deep in sea water across Morecambe Bay, this is for Kim and dad and to help keep hearts beating. If our dad was stronger he would have loved to have taken part in this walk with us, he will be there to wave us off though, along with mum, Peter and Florence. Also walking that day is our cousin Jane and her husband Roger over in Australia! They plan to set off at the same time as us which will be around 8.30pm over there, and walk along a beautiful 7 mile track that circles the river in Adelaide. A wonderful gesture across the miles.

 We know that Kim will be walking with us that day, you just won't see her footprints in the sand.

We have also got sponsor forms going around if you would rather donate that way, just ask Peter, Lesley, Dad or myself again don't be shy! If you think you could get quite a few sponsors yourself through your workplace etc. then please ask us for a form. We would be extremely thankful.
