We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

This season our charity fashion show is a very special one as we are raising money in the memory of Silas Pullen, a pupil at shop owner Helen Pritchard's children’s school,  who sadly died from a brain tumour in December 2013 at just 11 years old. We hope you can get behind us and help make a real difference. Even if you are unable to attend our fashion show please do support this worthwhile charity. Your support is very much appreciated.

In August 2012, having spent a weekend camping and playing cricket with his family and friends, Silas Pullen, went home for supper a very happy little boy.

A really bad headache that Calpol couldn’t fix resulted in a mad dash to hospital and then news that changed his family’s life forever.  From nowhere, Silas was diagnosed with an aggressive malignant brain tumour.  An heroic battle with ‘BOB’ the brain tumour followed for the next 18 months, until sadly Silas lost his fight in December last year at only 11 years old.

The Silas Pullen Fund has been set up to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity, which directly funds scientific and clinical research into brain tumours.  Raising money for his fund means that 100% of all money raised goes to the charitable objectives set by Ben and Sarah Pullen, Silas’s parents.

Ben and Sarah said:

“We have set up a supporter fund with the Brain Tumour Charity as we are keen to support research into the treatment and cure of childhood brain tumours so that other families facing this journey have more hope.

We don’t want other parents to hear the same words as we did when Silas was first diagnosed: "There is nothing we can do - your son will die in 12-18 months". We want them to be given some hope however small.

In 30 years, the survival rate has not changed for this cancer - there's really little out there and we want to help change this.”
