Story

July 2011

After 7 months of fighting, Steve passed way on Monday 4th July. We have comfort that he wont be suffering any more and he is now at rest and looking after our amazing Elle.

It would have been Steve's wish for us to continue to support our family's charity of Headway.

Thank you for your continued support due our difficult times.

March 2011

As you're all aware just over 4 months ago my brave 11 year old niece Elle passed away after suffering a brain injury in a tragic accident. I promised Elle that she'd never be forgotten and that I would do everything I could to keep the memory of her alive.

On 20th March 2011 I will run the Reading Half Marathon for Headway, the brain injury charity in memory of Elle. I'll be collecting sponsorship up to and after the event, all monies raised will go to helping patients and families recover and cope with the impact of a brain injury. Please feel free to sponsor me, no matter how big or small, every donation helps towards helping Headway.

Thank you in advance

Nick Mead

October 2010

On the 13th October our amazing Elle had a tragic accident and suffered horrific head injuries. Elle fought for her life for 8 days, she had the love and support from her family constantly. During this time our family were told about Headway, we knew that Headway would be there to give us the support to help our Elle to be rehabilitated.

On the 21st October our amazing Elle was taken from us. She was just 11 years old. Elle was a lovely little girl, funny, cheeky, happy and everything else that an 11 year old girl should be. Elle had just started her first year in secondary school, she had her whole future ahead of her. Elle was loved very much by all that knew her, especially her loving parents.

Our lives have changed for ever........In memory of Elle we have decided that our donations may help other people that have been affected by brain injuries.

Headway promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and provide information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their families and carers.

As a family we would have relied heavily on the support of Headway, unfortunately for us we will never know, however with your generosity other families will......
