Hi Everyone,
My lovely Dad Ronnie sadly died in June 2006 from Cancer. The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home assisted with his care and the way they interracted with him was exceptional. Without them my Dad wouldn't have been able to stay at home at the end... and with the risk of being cheesy, I know he would be totally proud of me and supportive of this great cause - plus I always wanted to be his favourite (I'm sure this would've nailed it for me). ;)
To say I have struggled with the training is an understatement on a colossal scale! With sore knee's, bad weather, work, hectic lifestyle and a very warm and comfortable bed it has been tough to keep going. However, with the amazing donations received so far I am feeling an immense amount of pressure (which is a good thing) to get around in a semi-decent time and get some cash for this outstanding charity.
The race is almost here and I am incredibly nervous! You don't realise how far 26 miles is until you run a 16 miler - almost drop dead - and then realise that you have to do 2/3rds of it again on race day!
This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do and my better half, Seth, would vouch for that. Not only does the 6ft2in / 15 stone giant have to train with me but I am REALLY moody when we do!
I'm certain it will all be worth it when we see how much money we have managed to raise.
Thanks so much to everyone who has donated.xxxxx
