Story

I did it!! I managed to complete the marathon in 5:12.45. Thanks to everyone who sponsored and supported me, it made all the difference xxx

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page and a big thank you to all those who have sponsored me so far.

I am running the 2009 Flora London Marathon for Wyfold Group Riding for the Disabled. RDA's mission is to improve the lives of people with disabilities, by providing them with the opportunity to ride horses or take up carriage driving. My family has been supporting RDA for some time by volunteering at our local branch, Wyfold RDA.

Wyfold RDA has 8 ponies who are ridden or driven by adults and children. The group enables people to improve their health and wellbeing, delivering a real and lasting therapy that not only benefits mobility and co-ordination, but encourages confidence and self worth whilst having fun. Having volunteered as a helper I can vouch for the difference that Wyfold RDA has had on many people's lives. It is fantastic to see children's faces light up when it is time for their weekly turn on their favourite pony.

Wyfold RDA is entirely dependent on donations and sponsorship. The group receives no fees, state aid or other funding and is entirely dependent on donations and fund raising events. Which is why I have decided to dedicate my marathon fundraising efforts to them.

I have never run a marathon before but always hoped to before I was 30. This year, the London Marathon is on 26th April - the day before my 30th birthday, so I will hopefully be just in time.

Please donate what you can to help me raise money for this very worthy cause, even if it's just a couple of quid. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Wyfold Group Riding for the Disabled gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!
