My name is Emma and I am married with four children. My husband was diagnosed Type 1 diabetic in January 1996, unfortunately our son Samuel was also diagnosed Type 1 on March 15th 2010, at the age of four.

Diabetes in on the increase in the under fives and thousands of children will be diagnosed this year. Our children didn't get it because they ate too many sweets, or they are unhealthy, or not looked after correctly. They got it through no fault of their own or us parents.

I inject Samuel four times a day with his insulin and test his sugar levels at least six times a day, often more. My husband has to do the same.

Please help JDRF find the reason why our children at getting this terrible disease, and maybe someday find a cure.
