Yes - you do remember correctly that I do not like hiking. Yes - Oddly enough I am off to do another hike across the middle of nowhere to raise money for Great Ormond Street. And yes, I am starting to wonder what on earth possessed me to sign up!.. I am off to join Great Ormond Street on their challange event to trek across the Namibian desert in late May 2008. No, it won't be easy but I'll do the (very?!) hard bit which I'm told will involve walking around 100km on soft desert sand, in 40 degree heat with little shade! At the end of each days walking we stop (drop?!) and set up tents in the wilderness where there will be no creature comforts like showers or toilets (but plenty of actual creatures!). You have the easy bit - all you need do is press a few buttons on your computer from the comfort of your chair to donate some of your hard-earned cash! It'll be well worth both our efforts - the money raised from this event will be used to help fund the much needed new £1.5 million cardiac theatre in the hospital. So, please dig as deep as you can for this brilliant charity and sponsor me online. Every penny really helps and is truly appreciated by the hospital. Worried about the security of donating this way? Well, donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) will receive your money straight away and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So if you are able, i would really appreciate your support to raise all that money!
Many thanks, Emma xx
