Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I didn't really fancy the thought of running my first marathon in a smoky city, so I looked for something a little more picturesque. Snowdonia was the obvious choice - the little ups and downs merely add to the challenge!
So, I'm set to run 26.2 miles around the base of Snowdon on the 25th October, training is going well and I'm really looking forward to it.
It seemed silly to run all that way just for the fun of it when there are so many good causes out there. I have decided to run for the benefit of a local charity set up and run by a friend of mine.
ESKIMOS is a relatively new group in Bristol that provides support, friendship and community for those living in the arctic world of Multiple Sclerosis. ESKIMOS is under the umbrella of a national MS charity, the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre and is hoping to expand and reach out to others in Bristol who might feel a lack of support or understanding, or who simply want to have some contact with people who might begin to understand what they are going through.
ESKIMOS are planning various events that are aimed at raising the profile of this condition which affects tens of thousands of people in the UK but does not do so well when it comes to public awareness and understanding. I'm sure most people know one or two people with MS, but how much do we actually understand about the illness?
Please help me to help ESKIMOS change this.
Thank you for your support.
