We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

I stupidly decided I needed to get a bit fitter and so, decided I would run the London Marathon  and thought I had better raise some money for charity too

It didn't take me long to decide which charity to run for, I have choosen Hearing dogs for deaf people. It is a charity that is close to my heart. My sister (34) is slowly going deaf and will eventually lose her hearing. Its hard to imagine a world without sound. She found out about hearing dogs and now has a very handsome  hearing dog called Hector. He helps to wake her in the morning, tells her when someone is calling on the phone or knocking at the door, and tells her with a danger signal that the smoke alarm is  going off.

It cost £6000 to train and care for a hearing dog so this is my way of saying thank you to them for what they have done for my sister and other people who are lucky enough to have a dog to assist them

Thank you so much for you support

About the charity

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.
