We fund research and raise awareness to create a world free from meningitis

Story

10 years ago the good looking bunch of "fit" people in the picture were on yet another hockey tour in the delightful surroundings of Blackpool. A week later one of them fell victim to meningitis.

This October we will be getting together again to recreate some of the atmosphere of the hockey tour i.e. meeting  for a beer festival, waking up with a hangover and wobbling around a bit on the pretense of enjoying exercise. Swap a hockey pitch for 10k of rolling North Yorkshire Hills and you have the picture. Oh and if you know any of us the "fit" pretense can definitely be lost. The exercise bit will most definitely not be fun!!

To help with getting over the pain of the event we will be raising as much as we can for the Meningitis Research Foundation. Any donation of any size will be very much appreciated. Words of encouragement or keeping your mirth to yourself would also be well received.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Meningitis Research Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

We are all in this together so sponsor one and sponsor all!

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
