Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
We're a team of staff from the Huddersfield Examiner who are doing a sponsored walk in the Holme Valley on May 17.
We're taking part in the Examiner Charity Challenge event in memory of our late colleague Adrian Sudbury, who died of leukaemia last year aged just 27. Sudders, as he was known in the office, was diagnosed with the disease in 2006 and had a bone marrow transplant the following year.
Although he ultimately lost his battle with leukaemia, Sudders was extremely grateful to a German woman, whom he never met, for donating her bone marrow and giving him an extra year of life. In his final months, Sudders campaigned tirelessly to encourage schools to teach young people about bone marrow donation.

We're doing the seven-mile walk at the Examiner Charity Challenge in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust, which worked closely with Sudders in his campaign. The trust recruits people for its bone marrow register, providing hundreds of lifesaving donors each year.
