Story
In pre clinical studies Exendin appears to have not only neuroprotective but neurorestorative properties. Could this treatment reverse the symptoms of Parkinson's? We would like to fund a patient study to find out. Exendin is an existing treatment for Type 2 Diabetes delivered by way of a tiny injecting automated pen. In five different preclinical studies in the States, the UK, Korea and Sweden, Exendin has shown an extraordinary ability both to protect and to restore function in Parkinson’s. In other words it is possible that when Exendin is administered to people with Parkinson’s, their condition could be reversed and normal function restored. In 2010, we would like to fund a pilot study at The Neurological Hospital, Queen Square in London. The study would involve 20 people with Parkinson’s to be assessed over a six month period on Exendin treatment.
