Story

*My £2 Challenge*

Anyone who knows me will know that I am a strong believer that difficult times, as hard as they are, can be a time to learn and grow. In a time of such uncertainty there is understandably a lot of worry in the air but I have also seen so much kindness. Although we cannot control all the things that are happening I believe we can control how we react.

I wonder if the silver lining to something so difficult could be the opportunity for us to be kinder and to strengthen communities.

This being said, I want to take this opportunity to do more and would really appreciate your help! My amazing friend works for the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust which supports children/young adults aged 13-24 years old who are fighting cancer.

Amongst many things, this wonderful charity is funding groundbreaking cancer research which could see the end of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. They also provide support to improve quality of life (including scalp cooling) and time spent on hospital wards and after treatment. They send 1000’s of Christmas presents to 100’s of young people who have to spend Christmas in hospital and this is all now in jeopardy because the charity relies on events to raise these vital funds.

As you will be aware coronavirus does have a financial impact on many. Charities like The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust are struggling to continue their fabulous work. The sad thing is those people still need the support and help.

If you can afford it I challenge you to donate £2 and then tag a friend(s) and ask them to do the same. If half my friends donate a £2 (£744) then half of their friends donate £2 (£372) you can see that the money raised will quickly add up. Your act of kindness will really change lives!
