Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I did it and I do feel FABULOUS.
I ran the 2009 London Marathon it took me 7 hours 25 minutes and 43 seconds. It was a tough day and the weather was fabulous - though not so great for running in!
On Thursday16th April 2009 I reached that grand age of 50 years old. And to mark the occasion I wanted to run the Flora London Marathon to be: "Fabulous at Fifty"
What's Fabulous about that you ask? Well by training and running the Marathon I wanted to feel fabulous in mind, body and soul by being healthy, fit and have a sense of wellbeing - raising funds for a great Charity.
The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the only charity in the UK wholly dedicated to defeation lung cancer and the charity I have chosen.
Both my husband John and I have been affected by the loss of a loved one through Lung Cancer. John's Father, Ronnie Drysdale died in 1984. I never got to meet him as he died just months before John and I met. My Godmother, Mary Robertson (Auntie Molly) died in 1998. Auntie Molly was my Mum's oldest friend they met in their teens when they both worked in Elders Cafe in Cupar and remained good friends from then on.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
