In May I will be heading off to the township of Mfuleni in South Africa to improve my DIY skills!

Some 10 million people live in the townships around the major cities in "shacks" made from corrugated iron, scrap wood or cardboard. They have no electricity or sanitation. HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland) are sending 40 staff (including me!) with Habitat for Humanity to help build more substantial housing for some of these people.

I need to raise at least £500 just to cover the cost of building the home I'll be working on. All the maney raised will go direct to the charity as my personal costs (travel, accomodation etc) are being paid by HBOS. Any additional funds raised will help provide basic shelter in 92 countries worldwide.
