We offer free support to people with cancer and their loved ones

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. We are a nurse, lawyer, company accountant, recruitment manager, account manager and IT manager. The six of us have never done anything like this before but have been inspired by the Luncarty men who have been doing this for a few years and raised lots of money for a really good cause. We have supported them in the past, saw how hard they trained and their sense of achievement at the end when they had completed the challenge.  Its now our turn to don the padded shorts and liberally apply the vaseline to these places that never see the light of day!

We have done a bit of fundraising, including a beetle drive, a fundraising party at one of our houses and a Virgin Vie party, so between that and our sponsorship we hope to meet our target. Your donations are very much apreciated.

23/04/09 - Just over a week to go and we have all been training as much as we can but still a bit nervous about the event. It has taken up a lot of time, but have been assured by the men it will all be worth it on the day and we are delighted with all the donations so far, so thanks very much to everyone.

30/04/09 Not long now, we just all want to get on with it now, we have decided we will all aim for the silver section - 30 mile cycle and 22 mile walk, weather forecast not looking too great but we will keep smiling!

May - Weather was good, we all completed the silver section and felt great afterwards, most of us planning to do it again next year. Thanks again for all your donations, we have raised approx £6000 so far.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Maggie's Centres gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.  Please donate generously as I am sure we all know someone who has been affected by cancer.

Thanks for your support from, Susan, Kirsty, Fiona, Ros, Lorna and Fiona
