Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at this page.
As some of you may already know, during a temporary bout of insanity I took the decision to run the 2008 London Marathon.
I am running to raise money for SportsAid, a charity based here in the UK which provides financial assistance to young, talented sports-people, both able-bodied and disabled, helping the next generation of British sporting talent to succeed. SportsAid provides young athletes with financial support at a time when it is most needed, when often the only other source of financial support available to them is their parents. As an example of the work undertaken by SportsAid, 15 of the 17 British gold medalists at the 2004 Athens Olympics had been supported by SportsAid.
You can find out more about the work of SportsAid at www.sportsaid.org.uk
After a temporary three week blip in training due to a trip to the Himalayas and the Maldives, I am now getting back on track and whilst I am not anticipating any record-breaking times on April 13th, I am getting there!
I would really appreciate it if you feel you would like to support SportsAid by sponsoring me in my first marathon this April.
Thank you!! Fionnuala
