We provide family-based care for children to ensure every child has a loving family
Story
First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to visit our donation page.
The best way we can emphasise the importance of the cause we are supporting, is in our own words first of all. Each and every penny towards this worthy charity is put to full use. The official blurb from Mercy Corps Mongolia follows below, but first let us brief you on our expedition.
Benjamin Curwood and David Staffell head off on July 21st 2007 from Hyde Park, London on an intrepid journey of 10,000 miles to reach the capital of Mongolia, Ulaan Baatar. We will do so using a car of no more than 1000cc (to make it that bit more challenging) and will travel through countries such as France, Germany and the Ukraine, to Russia, Khazakstan, Uzbekistan and of course Mongolia and more!!
The importance of this 'event' is not, however, our journey, but what it represents and by doing so, who will benefit. It just so happens we may well have a great time doing it in the process!
By donating to this page, you are helping Hope and Homes for Children help secure the lives and future livelihoods of children throughout Eastern and Central Europe and . In just 12 years Hope and Homes for Children has helped to more than 15,000 children. Funds raised for Hope and Homes for Children will be donated to their projects in , , and Moldova/Transdnistria which focus on closing down the state institutions and removing children from the terrible conditions in these centres. The children are reunited with siblings, and where possible placed with their biological families. Other children are relocated to small family homes, which provide them with a loving, stimulating environment enabling them to reach their full potential. Hope and Homes for Children have also produced a Best Practice Manual which will be published by UNICEF in order to guide other regions on how to implement deinstitutionalisation. For more information on the Hopes and Homes projects, please visit
We are also supporting Mercy Corps Mongolia, however we can only have donations for one charity per page. Please go to the following link to find our more about their charity and to donate to their cause if you'd prefer:
Many thanks for all your support and we welcome any questions, or donations of bits and pieces that will help us complete our journey, from tents, car parts to gloves or toothbrushes! ('',)
Thanking you in advance once again for your support.
Best wishes,
Benjamin & David

Orphanages do not protect children. They harm them. We are working towards a day when every child can grow up in a loving family.
There are millions of children across the world confined to loveless orphanages. Over 80% of them are not orphans. It doesn’t have to be this way.
