Story

107 miles off road cycling event from end to end of the

South Downs Way.  By a stroke of luck - because we love torturing ourselves – we were fortunate enough to enjoy freak weather, the only two days of the summer with force 9+ cross winds and driving rain.

The first day being the hardest at 67 miles, plus a few for wrong turns, proved the most challenging and many of the 190 starters retired.  Martin despite a nasty fall and consequential hole in his elbow and grazed side, persevered to the finish line.

The second day was great fun and a mere 40 mile dash to the end.  The scariest moment being a road section, the last mile to the end when a double decker bus cut off the wind Andy was leaning into and he was nearly acquainted with its rear wheels.

More importantly, we are delighted to announce that we exceeded our fund raising target for The Association of Children’s Hospices.  With your help we managed an impressive £1632.  Thank you ever so much for all your support and we are chuffed to bits with having had the opportunity to help children less fortunate then our own.

So, till next year when we do it all again [joke] over and out!
