Running the Marathon with Miriam in Mind
Fundraising for Mind
In April 2008, our dear friend passed away after a long battle with illness. Miriam was in her penultimate year at Cambridge Medical School when she died, two days before her 24th birthday. Miriam was a wonderful friend, still so missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known her.
Mind was a charity close to Mim’s heart, she ran the Great North Run for them in 2005. This year the London Marathon falls the day after Miriam’s 26th birthday, and we'll both be there, taking on the 26.2 mile challenge in her honour. Mind is a leading mental health charity - they work to create a better life for everyone with experience of mental health distress. Mental health problems can affect anyone, shattering the lives of those affected and the lives of the people close to them. One in four of us will experience a mental health problem at some point in our lives. Every year more than 250,000 people are admitted into psychiatric hospitals and over 4,000 people take their own lives.* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
