Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, my cousin, Helen Welch, was involved in a car accident on the 27th September causing severe brain damage.
As many of you may not know, Helen is Type 1 Diabetic. I blame myself... I probably shouldn't have fed her crisps when she was a baby! ;) Due to her Diabetes she was in and out of hospital a few times, suffered from Diabetic Ketoacidosis (yes i googled the spelling... and probably still got it wrong!) and she struggled with keeping her Diabetes under control, as has the staff at the hospitals she's been in since her accident.
Before her accident she had enquired about doing a Skydive for JDRF, which unfortunately she can't see through! So in I step thinking 'i can do a sky dive'... alas i settle for an abseil, maybe i'll skydive next year :)
JDRF are searching for a cure for type 1 diabetes, just £450 funds a whole day of one of their research projects. I aim to raise £450 at LEAST! But I know we can push it to 2 days... maybe 3..
for Helly :)
