We provide free high quality care & support to people who are terminally ill.

Story

Those of you who know us will be aware that we regularly get together to play Mahjong (allegedly!)  We have often talked about getting off our backsides to take part in something like this event, instead of ‘twittering the sparrows’ all evening.  We’ve decided that we’ve talked about it for long enough and now is the year to do it - so we are going for a ‘girl’s night out with a difference’!

There are so many worthy charities out there which need help.  But we decided to walk and raise funds for Hospiscare. One of our close friends has worked for them for some time and having discussed the amazing work they do we wanted to show our support.

Some of us may have experienced the help Hospiscare provides within our own families and whilst we hope it won't be required, we would want their services to be available should they be needed by our friends or family at some point in the future.  Many people don't realise that Hospiscare is an independent local charity relying on the generosity of the community to enable them to continue to provide their invaluable service.  All money raised is used locally.  Hospiscare provides free and specialised nursing care to the terminally ill giving care and support both to the patients and their families in their own home where possible, or in the hospice.  They have very dedicated professional staff carrying out a job which most of us would not be able to do, even if we had the expertise.

Chris, Jill, Di and Sue.
