I've been doing a set of walks in Austria to raise money for the lovely charity Child's I. I'm onto my last walk now, 8.7km to go with so far just a blister on my left little toe, a slightly stiff right calf and a slight cold from the first day's walking in the rain to show for it. 42km down, not far to go now to hit my total of 50km. I'm hoping to raise £10 for every km walked.
It seemed very luxurious for me to be taking a holiday when there is so much hardship and poverty in the world and it felt wrong to be doing these walks without trying to better the world in some small way. After being a part of Activate Summit (http://www.guardian.co.uk/activate), I've had a feeling that we all need to do our part, big or small, in helping to sort out the world's problems. Doing these walks to raise money for charity and trying to write some tech about how you lifestream time and place seemed like a very small thing I could do.
You can follow my progress live on http://four.walks.at, I hope you'll donate and also walk along with me.
