Story

I am Lead Chaplain at Warwick Hospital and as a way of giving something back, I am aiming to run my first ever 5km at the Coventry Fun Run on 7th July. The nearest date to the NHS 70th Birthday

I started training for this back in January and have been using the app "Couch to 5k" after never having run before. A few knee issues, but helped by exercises (thank you Warwick Hospital Physiotherapy Department) I am on the way. This is a big personal challenge as I am not in the first flush of youth! I would like to encourage others to take up running if they have not done it before.

I am raising money for the Birth & Babies Appeal, and specifically towards a birthing pool which cost £12k each. I wanted to raise money towards a birthing pool for the new midwife led unit at Warwick Hospital as it is something that I did not have access to when I had my children and it would have made such a difference to my birth experience.

Any support that you are able to give would be greatly appreciated and will spur me on in my challenge.

Thank you

Frances
