Story
The Jonny Fraser Boat Party on 22nd August 2009 is the first of what we hope to establish as an annual 'Fraser Reunion' open to all familar with or like-minded to Jonny. This and future events will be in the spirit of fun, seeing friends, and in support of the JF Memorial Scholarship Fund!
In the current academic year the fund is supporting two students (Vivian from Ghana and Yohannes from Ethopia) on scholarships through the M.Sc. in Plant Sciences. This will enable them to improve the agricultural industry in their home countries. See http://www.bfhu.org/parent/147/.
Embarkation for the Boat Party is by 6.45pm sharp on 22nd August at Temple Pier (London) and disembarkation is at 11pm. The cruise carries you up to Westminster then down the river to Greenwhich and back to Temple. Meanwhile we will provide:
- Dressed bar included (crisps, nuts, nachos and dip with crudités and olives)
- BBQ included (Aberdeen angus beef burger, Cumberland sausage, lamb chop marinated in a mint glaze, salmon and pepper kebab spiced with lemon and black pepper, marinated chicken breasts, vegetarian platter of burgers, sausages & kebabs, continental salad with cherry tomato and red onion, Thai noodle salad, creamy coleslaw, hot new potatoes, bread selection of sesame baps, rolls and crusty French bread, various Relish / chutney / sauces!)

- talented DJ and acoustic musicians included!
- Cash bar at reasonable pub prices.
- Charity raffle (win evening tea at the Houses of Parliament) and auction (Warner bros merchandise and a sailing lesson!)
Dress code is smartish and summery. If you would like a ticket to support this great cause please donate £40 on this page (unfortunately not eligible for gift aid) and make sure you provide your name and details. Any donations over and above £40/ticket will be eligible for gift aid so please make these separately if you are feeling genorous enough!
Likewise if you cannot make the event but would still like to donate to the cause please do so on this page - your gift will be gratefully received and eligible for gift aid provided you are a UK tax payer.
Of our fundraising target, approximately half will be needed to cover the cost of the function and the other half will be retained by the JF Memorial Scholarship Fund in order to support more students from the developing world. Please give generously! All will be greatly appreciated and put to good use.
