As before we will be raising money for the Colchester Cancer Unit.

Last year we managed to raise a little over £6k, with another £1k from other events like the Boxing Day Barrel Hunt and Alma vs Copford Cricket match. The Cancer Unit still has £250k to raise to complete the building work so our efforts and any funds raised will be greatly appreciated.

If you wish to join us for the duration, a day, a few miles, an hour or just to cheer us on, please see the following timings.

Friday 3rd May
05.18hrs train from Marks Tey – Liverpool Street
Arrive 06.16hrs walk along river to Kingston upon Thames staying over night, Holiday Inn Kingston
Saturday 4th May
07.00hrs Kingston upon Thames, walk to Manor Hotel, Datchet
Sunday 5th May
07.00hrs walk to Henley on Thames.
16.23hrs Train from Henley to arrive back at Marks Tey 19.30hrs arriving in the Alma (Copford) at 20.00hrs for cold drinks and food.

Below is some information about the Cancer Unit. A few our our friends and neighbours have made use of their current facilities, and very sadly some did not recover. We have all had a friend or loved one blighted with this horrible disease. So please give what you can and do come and join us (no matter how long or short) if you can.
