I was diagnosed with myeloma in 2009 and it turned our life upside down. However, after high dose chemo and a stem cell transplant in 2011, I was lucky enough to get 8 years of remission before I relapsed in 2019. 

I am very conscious of how lucky I am. I have seen many friends pass away from this terrible and incurable cancer and it is crucial that research is undertaken so that this cancer at the very least becomes a chronic condition rather than an incurable condition.

So I decided that whilst it would be hard with all the treatment that I'd need, that I'd like to have a focus. And it's back to my fundraising goals. We have already raised over £125,000 for Myeloma UK and now I'd like to add to that. My aim is to get myself, family and friends fundraising for the charity and to raise £50,000 before my 50th birthday in 2025. That certainly gives us some time! We've already reached over £30,000 (July 2021)
