The Great Wall of China Trek 2018 · 5 May 2018 to 13 May 2018 ·

A group of St Catherine’s Hospice supporters will be taking on the Great Wall of China in May 2018 to help the hospice be there for local people and those close to them when life comes full circle.

Story

If you don't want to make a just giving account then you can donate by texting 'EMCW60' and an amount to 70070 or by cash/cheque :)

I am raising money for St Catherine's Hospice so that they can continue delivering their amazing work providing end of life care and support for terminally ill people and their families. They care for more than 2000 people every year, however less than a third of this care is funded by the NHS so the hospice relies on fundraisers and donations to continue delivering such a high level of care. I want to raise money for them to help with their funding and great work as well as challenging myself and giving something back to others.

In order to fundraise, I will be taking part in a variety of activities, including trekking along some of the Great Wall of China with other challengers. We will be trekking a remote section of the wall, on the wall itself and through wild and remote landscapes, all in aid of the hospice. We'll be walking long/steep distances for 7 days, enduring a variety of terrains, steep hills and weather conditions so please don't think it's anything close to a holiday. This trek is the equivalent of completing the 3 UK peaks! I've never done anything like this before so it's going to be a huge challenge and require a lot of training but I know it will be definitely worth it.

I have contributed to the cost of the trip myself so any additional donations to the hospice will be gratefully received.

I will be undertaking lots of other activities to help meet my target so please look out for those too :)
