I will be doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on august 6th with family and friends raising money for Kirkwood hospice in memory of my wonderful mum Carolynne x Please, please please donate what you can and let's all keep Kirkwood hospice going!

After what we all thought was a routine operation to remove a suspected cyst from her neck a few weeks before Christmas 2015, my beautiful mum was diagnosed with stage 4 thyroid cancer and given 3 weeks to live. No Op, No chemo, no drugs, no chance...devastated! Mum was in the care of Kirkwood hospice a few days later.

The Kirkwood palliative care team were superb, doing what has got to be one of the heart breaking jobs in the world. All the doctors, nurses, chefs and volunteers did a magnificent job looking after mum and making the precious little time she had left comfortable and relatively normal.  Always with a smile on her face, having a laugh with the staff mum said the hospice was like staying in a posh B and B. The friendly staff honestly couldn't do enough for mum and all us family and friends who would visit.

My mum loved walking and being out in the open air and climbed the yorkshire Peaks a few times, never managed all 3 in one day though, If there were more shops on route she would have bossed it! ;)
