Story
Me and my brothers have decided to enter the Marathon Relay this year and we thought it would be a good opportunity to raise awareness and some cash for a good cause. My daughter was born with a unilateral cleft lip which was repaired when she was 12 weeks old. The Cleft Lip And Palate Association supported us as a family and we would like to raise some money to help them to support more families like us.
CLAPA nurses were involved as soon as we got the diagnosis to help us to understand and gave us all the information we needed. They also gave us special bottles to help Rosie with feeding. We are very grateful to CLAPA and the Spires team at Oxford for all their help.
Three babies are born with a cleft lip and/or palate every day in the UK, and they face a 20-year treatment pathway which can continue well into adulthood. The Cleft Lip & Palate Association (CLAPA) is here to make sure no one has to go through this alone.Every donation will help CLAPA to continue to provide specialist, targeted services to give people affected by cleft the knowledge and emotional support they need, while their UK-wide community brings together people from all walks of life to share experiences and learn to cope.
