Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The sky dive takes place on Saturday 10th September 2016 - please come and watch, I would love you to be there.

Technically the jump is called a 'Tandem Skydive'. It is a Skydive because I will be freefalling through the air (without the parachute deployed) for several thousand feet,at around 120mph; it is aTandem because I will be harnessed to a professional parachute instructor from Black Knights at all times throughout the descent. For me this is literally the chance of a lifetime!

I have been so very lucky and I would like to help other people that need the support and kindness St. Catherine's Hospice offers.

At the end of 2013 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, after under going a lumpectomy and the cancer still being deeper than first thought I then had to under go a mastectomy. After Chemotherapy and radiotherapy In January 2014 to the end of July 2014 and now on continuous medication for life, I am in remission and doing well. This would not have been possible without the support, love and kindness from my family, close friends and Burnley/Royal Blackburn Hospital. All my specialists, ( Surgeon/Oncologists/Radiologists) and  nurses, including my wonderful district nurse, GP Practice and practice nurse have been fantastic. I would not have been able to fight it without any of them.

My outlook on life is so very different, the negatives I let go of and just love life now.

My daughter Rhea is getting married on the 2nd September 2016, this I never thought I would see. I owe my life to the NHS, especially the Radiologist who spotted my cancer initially after a routine mammogram at the age of 50 (2013). Other than feeling so tired I had no symptoms or lumps.

Please sponsor me as for me this is such a huge achievement - I am terrified of heights but really want to do this, I will do it!

The Black Knights in Cockermouth are helping me to do this on the 10th September 2016.
