At 47yrs old my life was changed, I had a stroke.  Trying to accept this at my age was difficult. My Stroke was a result of severe Meningitis.  The speed at which I got ill was unbelievable.  My life was put on the balance within a matter of hours. Ian was told I could be in hospital for up to 6 months.  Not acceptable to me!  I left the hospital on the 4th of February in a wheelchair after 5 weeks as an inpatient. I am now aiming to run 4.1m on 1 July.  That is down to amazing Dr's and nurses at Forth Valley Hospital, physio support, family support and complete stubbornness from myself.  I want people to know what you can do if you work hard, not just at your once a week physio  appointment, but every single day!! Your recovery is in your hands.
