Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In June 2015 I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. I was 51 years old and weighed over 19st. A year later after watching the diet and hitting the gym I had lost 3st (42lb, 19kg), so I bought a road cycle! My first bike ride took place May 20, 2016. During the time following I've completed just over 3,000 miles, including my first 100 mile sportive last September.

This year to continue my progress I have decided to take on further challenges. Macmillan Cancer Support have kindly offered me a place in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 Sportive but I intend this to be only one of four arduous tasks over the coming months, as follows:

Coast to Coast (150 miles) - privately arranged - 27 to 29 May

Prudential RideLondon 2017 (100 miles) - 30 July (https://www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/)

Selby 3 Swans Sportive 2017 (100 miles) - 3 September (http://yorkshirecancerresearch.org.uk/events/selbythreeswanssportive/)

Velo Birmingham 2017 (100 miles) - 24 September (http://www.velobirmingham.com/)

For me, after only 7 months riding since I was a schoolkid, this is a big ask! Please help me to reach my minimum target of £600.

Just to be absolutely clear, each donation received is for ALL FOUR RIDES as a combined effort. Thank you in advance for any contributions you are able to spare.
