Five years ago I ran the London Marathon and raised money for CLIC Sargent.  I'd had no particular experience of their services or knew anyone close to me who had needed their support.  In 2018 that changed when a very close friend of mine and her family had their lives turned upside down by Leukaemia.  The support, practical and emotional, was vital to help them through the early days and the long road of treatment and hospital stays, and the more homely environment of Sam's House in Bristol.  Without charities such as this I don't know how families would manage.  

When I run in the Bristol Half it will be almost a year since my friend's daughter left Bristol and returned home.  She continues her treatment and has made a return to University to continue her studies and her life. It seemed appropriate to run in this event in this city for this charity for my friend and her family.  Thank you for whatever you are able to sponsor me.
