Fundraising for Challenges Worldwide
Story
Please help me to fundraise for Challenges Worldwide, a pioneering social enterprise with a simple belief – that building a strong economy is the best way to alleviate poverty.
Challenges Worldwide support entrepreneurs and SMEs to develop their businesses – helping to grow enterprises that generate income, sustainable economic growth and employment. This creates fair and inclusive local economies; reduces reliance on aid and also helps many more people to fulfil their potential.
I have chosen this charity because I will soon be volunteering with Challenges Worldwide for three months, in Kampala, Uganda. I will be working, along with a Ugandan volunteer, with a local SME to help analyse the business, suggest improvements and help implement them. The work we do during these three months provides Challenges Worldwide with a vital foundation to best support the entrepreneur in developing their business going forwards.
To raise money for Challenges Worldwide, I am:
• Completing a 2km nightswim at the Sandford Parks Lido - setting off at midnight;
• Selling my handmade sweet cones at car boot sales and other venues;
• Hosting a pub quiz at The Bierkeller at the end of July.
