STEPHEN'S STORY: This page is dedicated to the memory of my incredibly brave and beautiful brother, Stephen Realf, who sadly died from a brain tumour aged just 26.
Stephen had been a fit young man, an Officer in the Royal Air Force and undertaking his Pilot training, when he was diagnosed at age 19. As you can imagine, it shattered his whole world, and ours too. Nothing can prepare you for a diagnosis like that.
During the course of his illness, Stephen endured several gruelling operations (including brain surgery while awake!), chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and he was devastated when he was medically discharged from the RAF, but throughout it all, Myton Hospices were a ray of sunshine for Stephen. They provided much needed support to him and the family, completely free of charge, and he loved spending time there.
Unfortunately they receive no Government funding, and rely solely on donations to continue their work. They need over 8 million pounds a year to keep providing support to families like ours.
Please make a donation if you can - it doesn't matter how much, every penny helps! And please share among your social media networks to help us raise even more funds for this fantastic organisation.
Finally, please send us some good vibes on Sunday 13th August when we take on the 14 km run from Sydney's CBD to Bondi beach - heaven knows we'll need it!!
