We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Azelie has been unwell for a very long time. Last year,  Professor Brogan at GOSH did some further tests and we found out that she has 3 abnormal auto-inflammatory genes- DADA2, TRAPS and HA20.  These are incredibly rare with DADA2 being first described in 2014 and HA20 in 2016.  There are currently only 331 people worldwide with a diagnosis of DADA2 and only a handful of patients with HA20.  We currently do not know which gene is causing Azelie’s symptoms, but it is likely that they are all contributing.  GOSH Rheumatology department is currently doing reasearch into auto-inflammatory diseases but they need funding to sustain their laboratory work.  We would be incredibly grateful if you would support this research which will hopefully lead to a cure for Azelie and many others and give them back their quality of life.
