Story
My lovely Dad - Alan - passed away on Wednesday 19th August. He died peacefully at home after a long illness - bravely, yet defiantly borne.
We have known for a while that Dad wasn't going to get better and I am grateful to have had the chance to talk to him about what he wanted to happen after he died and how he'd like to be remembered. We spoke about funeral flowers and he told me that if you feel better for sending them, then to go ahead, but if you’d like to make a donation to charity in his memory instead then that would be very kind of you.
Funeral flowers really aren’t my thing, so I’ve made a donation to Hospice Isle of Man who helped us to care for Dad at home in his final days. Dad was adamant that he didn't want to die anywhere else and quite simply, we couldn't have kept him safe at home without their guidance, support and care. I’ve set up this Just Giving page in his memory where you can do the same if you are so inclined.
Lots of love, Clara xxx
PS - Dad asked me not to show anyone this photo until after he'd gone. He wanted it to be his message from the great beyond. I'm supposed to caption it with, "Cheers, ya bastards!" so hopefully I won't get kicked off JustGiving for quoting him verbatim. Rest easy, you legend. I love you so much! <3
