Story
Thank you for supporting Parkinson's UK in loving memory of Tony Keys.
Sandy, Sarah, Abigail, Rupert, Oliver, Hugh, Bryn, Sebastian, Amelia and Imogen's much loved Husband, Dad and Grampy
Tone/Dad/Gramps was a precision engineer, ran a successful engineering company, was an active sportsman, was always ‘fixing’ and creating in his garage workshop at home and was a sharp-witted, funny, life and soul personality of any gathering. He was diagnosed with this cruel disease in 2010. There is no familial history and it turned both his and Sandy's life around.
There is very little understanding about the disease and it’s a disease where there remains no cure. Every sufferer has different symptoms, including tremors, slow movement, rigid muscles, poor balance, speech changes, fainting, hallucinations and vascular dementia, to name but a few. It’s both progressive and cruel.
Parkinson’s UK is working towards finding ways to alleviate the symptoms, to develop the drugs needed, to do more brain studies and, ultimately, to find a cure. One of the current barriers is the cost of R&D.
To honour the memory of Tony, we thank you for your love and for supporting such an important cause.
Anthony Frank Keys - forever in our thoughts, missed and loved.
