Story
I am taking part in four separate challenges this year to raise vital funds for St Barnabas Hospice and to celebrate the Charity's 40th Anniversary.
Due to the Slovenia challenge being cancelled, I have change to another challenge this year, which taking part in the Great North Run in September!
The first challenge: is a Fire Walk in March where I will be walking across burning hot coals- Completed
My second challenge: is the 75 mile Giant Sportive at the end of June. Although many people know I like biking, I don't ride long distances and I have only ever ridden over 40 miles twice, so this will really push me because of past injuries - Completed in under 5 hours.
My third challenge: is running in the largest Half Marathon in the world the Great North Run in September. I have not run a distance over three miles in well over ten years so it will be a challenge to get fit for this run and complete the 13.1 miles in a good time. It is for an amazing charity, so I'm going to do it and I am going to complete it!
Lastly my Fourth challenge: is now completing the Snowdon Sunrise Trek by climbing Mount Snowdon at night starting at 1.00am - (I was meant to do the climb but couldn't due to Covid) The mountain is the highest peak in England and Wales with a height of 1085 metres.
Any money you can donate to support me with these challenges will be greatly appreciated as these funds are vital in enabling St Barnabas to care and support patients and families throughout Lincolnshire.
You will be making a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire living with a life-limiting or terminal illness, ensuring St Barnabas can be there for them every day of the year. By way of example, every £14.02 raised will enable St Barnabas to provide one hour of specialist at-home care to a patient living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
I am self-funding the cost of each challenge personally, so every single penny I raise for these challenges will go direct to St Barnabas Hospice.
