A year and a half ago, the kids lost theirfather unexpectedly. We couldn’t get hold off him and then I had the late night knock on the door from his brother inlaw that nobody would ever want.
Eighteen months on we have passed every birthday, first day at junior school/college. We’ve survived Christmas twice now and I’ve learnt that nobody grieves in the same way. That grief can come out or explode at times when you think you’ve got this we’re copying, they are copying. I’ve learnt as a parent I can’t make this better I can’t fix it ( which is heart breaking) but we can get through this and life has changed but we can cope and still smile, laugh and have fun.
We have been so lucky with the support from family, friends, school and Jigsaw. I contacted them after school gave me their number. Jigsaw listened reassured me everything going on was normal and have offered family group counselling.
I’m doing all these challenges self funded to raise awareness and promote a charity that helps so many. I want my kids to be proud and to inspire them that we can all move forward and if doing what I love can raise anything just to awareness, then I’m doing something positive. So please do share as so many families out there are sadly in need of support.
Thank you Clelie x
