Story

FIRSTLY, THANK YOU FOR VISITING THIS JUST GIVING PAGE, WITH A HUGE THANKS GOING OUT TO THE DADS FROM ST CECILIAS AND FROM CHEAM FIELDS WHO ARE GIVING THEIR TIME UP TO HELP SUPPORT AND RAISE MONEY FOR THE CHILDREN WITH CANCER CHARITY.

This will be the second year that I have organised the Children with Cancer Charity Football Match at Sutton United.  Against two groups of Dads from two local primary schools.  Last year we had a great turn out and raised just over £4000 on the day.  I am hoping to make this years match bigger and better. On Sunday 1st July at 1pm  we will be putting on a great match and raising some vital money for Children with Cancer.

The reason why I have chosen to do this is because, in July 2015 I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma, cancer of the lymphatic system.  I had it in my stomach, groin and lungs. Thankfully after 6 months of chemotherapy I came through it.  At the same time I was diagnosed I heard about a young girl at my children's primary school that was diagnosed with Leukemia.  When I overcame my illness I decided that I would raise money for the Children with Cancer Charity, by completing the 2016 London Marathon, The 3 peaks in 24 hours(Snowdon,Scafel Pike and Ben Nevis)

Over the past two years, I  met two amazing children, both who have beaten cancer not just once but on two occasions and this is why I am continuing to raise money for this great charity.

Kenisha is a 10 year old girl, at the age of 2 and a half she was diagnosed with a brain tumor after a year of chemotherapy she was put in remission.  At the age of 6 she was diagnosed with Leukemia and the chemotherapy started again.  She was in a critical situation for 28 days.  Thankfully now she has fully recovered.

Cameron is a 11 year old boy, at the age of 2 and a half he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, his treatment lasted for 2 and a half years.  Life was now good, but at the age of 7 it returned, this time as Leukemia, and the treatment started again.  He needed to have a stem cell transplant and was put in isolation not able to see his family for 3 weeks.  Thankfully the treatment worked and is going from strength to strength.

Meeting these children have given me so many reasons to support the Children with Cancer Charity.  Please help us raise some money for this great Charity.

Thank you
