My name is Dexter and I am 9 years old and I am going on a road trip from Lands End to John O Groats and in return for my parents taking me on this trip I am going to donate all my pocket money that I receive between now and the end of the summer holidays to Guide Dogs which should total around £50, I get £5 a week. I would like to double this amount if I could through sponsorship too so I am looking to raise £100 in total. My mum is going to pay my pocket money direct to my justgiving page each week.

I have chosen Guide Dogs as my charity to support because my mum is severely visually impaired and has a guide dog called Jackie. Without Jackie my mum wouldn't be able to take me to school safely as she cannot judge the speed or distance of traffic and she doesn't see silver cars at all until they are right upon her. If it is sunny or very bright then mums vision is reduced even further and at night she has practically no vision at all. Having  guide dog Jackie means that my mum can take me out independently whether its day or night.

We will be setting off from Lands Ends on Sunday 7th August and hope to arrive at John O Groats on Wednesday the 10th August. I have asked my parents to schedule a rest day for August 9th because I am only 9 years old and its a long way to travel.
