Story
I have been a type 1 diabetic for the past 30 years and that milestone, plus a mid life crisis as I rapidly approach 50, made me stop and think isn't it time I did something to help? I fancied a challenge and walking 117 miles from the South coast of Devon to the North, crossing both Dartmoor and Exmoor, will certainly provide that. It will be a challenge both mentally and physically with the additional concern of managing my diabetes during this 7 day walk.
My dad died from cancer last year and as a family we have both raised and contributed to research and support in this area. Now I feel it is time to do my bit to help diabetes as both myself and my niece, Finley, are type 1. Over my 30 years living with this condition things have improved hugely and I want to provide additional funding to Diabetes UK.
Progress update.
Friday 31st August.. We have finished!
Beautiful weather across Exmoor from Withypool to Lynmouth. Finished at the National Trust office where we signed the Two Moors Way register. Then relaxed at The Rising Sun with a pint to enjoy the view.
Thanks for your support.
