Fundraising for The Sick Children's Trust

Gareth Wood and Mark Wheatley will be taking part in the 2018 Screwball Rally, a 5 day adventure in our £350 Banger Batmobile covering nearly 2500 miles in total, across 8 Countries in Europe, travelling to Poland and back in memory of Gareth's son Lewis James Wood.
Gareth and Mark will be raising money for The Sick Children's Trust, which provided accommodation for Gareth and his wife Tracy whilst Lewis stayed at The Paediatric intensive care unit at Newcastle RVI allowing them to be close to Lewis 24 hours a day in his time of greatest need.
Lewis was born on the 6th of December 2017, but it soon became clear that all was not well soon after his birth and he developed breathing problems within minutes. He was swiftly transferred to the intensive care unit at the Newcastle RVI where he underwent life saving surgery to extend his life in his first day. He stayed in the intensive care unit and received incredible 24 hour full time care from the the staff there. He was soon diagnosed with severe Tracheal Stenosis with a single lung along with other less critical issues. Sadly Lewis' Trachea was too severely damaged and on his 4th day he passed away peacefully in his parents arms.
The Sick Children's Trust believes keeping families together significantly improves the recovery of ill children, they provide free high quality accommodation as well as emotional and practical support to families with sick children in hospitals around the UK
Gareth and Tracy will be eternally grateful for the support and help they received at Crawford House during Lewis' time at the RVI and would really appreciate any support no matter how small
