Story
On September 12th 2021, Kev & Russ will be entering the Cookham Dean Gravity Grand Prix - an event that involves shoving a handmade go-kart down a hill either to imminent demise or endless glory.
One night down the Dog & Duck fuelled by an evening of Estrella, it was decided amongst a group of friends that 2 of them should "give it a go". Driven by the unwavering piss-taking that ensued, Kev & Russ immediately purchased 30m of steel tube and a MIG welder quicker than anyone could say "whose round is it ?"
Having overcome the initial fear of welders and angle grinders the basics of a vehicle were formed. Then our efforts were spotted by another member of our Zoom pub known as the Corona Arms - a 30-year welder by trade who found our efforts quite humorous. A management meeting was quickly held and his skills were employed under the watchful eye of the management and swift progress was made.
Now here we are in July 2021 and the beast...it lives. We have a 4-wheel chassis, that steers, has brakes, and seats. Work has now begun on a bodyshell and we should be ready for scrutineering at the end of August.
Before we attempt our death defying (or inducing) feat we are trying to raise money for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance that will inevitably have to pull us from the burning wreckage of our overturned wonder.
Any contributions will be gratefully received as would your presence in support of the Bulletproof Bomb
