Story
Dad was a great lover of dogs and offered a home to so many rescue dogs over the years - from the crazy death-defying Kerry Blue brought home from The Grove pub in the 1970s, to Scooby, the deaf (and subsequently ineffectual but much loved guard dog) Great Dane, his successor, Scrappy, the white Boxer, Bella his beautiful Bull Mastiff and finally Rocky, his daft as a brush Irish American Pit Bull who he rescued in person from a factory site and adored. When Rocky got on the wrong side of the law several years ago and ended up behind bars for a number of months, it was Dogs Trust who vouched for him, settled his bail conditions and court fees and ensured his safe return to Dad. Dad never forgot Dogs Trust's kindness and set up a monthly standing order, which his grandchildren will continue in his memory. Dad had endless anecdotes about his adventures and mishaps with his canine companions over the years and if Rocky could speak, he would have his share of them too.
