Carmela has a rare progressive muscle wasting disease, shortening her life to around 16 or less. Carmela is a fighter and is determined to stay mobile and enjoy her short life - but it costs!

This May, a year after doing my first fundraiser, I will be fundraising once again for my cousin Carmela. Due to the current covid 19 outbreak I shall be doing a 24hr dance marathon in my living room! From 10am on Sunday 17th May till 10am Monday 18th May. Keeping my feet moving to the music (and maybe a few films) non stop for 24 hours. I will be live streaming and doing hourly updates so you can follow along and dance. 

So I ask my friends and family for your support once again. To give this little girl the physio and equipment she desperately needs. Especially during these uncertain times. 

For those of you that don’t know Carmela, she is my 6 year old cousin who has a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy called LMNA Congenital Muscular Dystrophy. It means her skeletal, heart and lungs weaken as she grows, shortening her life. With her type of MD, her heart is at risk of a sudden heart attack. Carmela has weak neck muscles causing her to have a floppy head. She wears a lycra suit under her daily clothes to help give her stability and reduce deformities in her spine as she grows. Her knees are bendy and weak and can give way easily. Despite not being able to run, jump, hop, climb and do general everyday tasks. She never complains about her daily pain and limitations. Despite Carmela's own problems she is guaranteed to put a smile on everyone else's face.  She has raised money for her children's hospice as a way to say thank you. She continues to raise money for MDUK to help find a cure for her deadly disease. Carmela has inspired so many people she has met. She is truly an inspiration to both young and old! So please help me in giving this lovely lady the life she deserves ❤️
